Mission Possible. This will make your dreams come true..
As we say goodbye to 2011 and welcome 2012, I’m sure you have big hopes, goals and dreams for the future.
I know I do.
Since day one Roberto and I have had a dream of making InfluenceOlogy an international brand. 3 years ago I made this declaration and the last time I looked, we have readers in over 21 countries!!!
That’s the power of ‘putting it out there’.
This is one of the best things you can do to make your goals, dreams and outcomes come to fruition – is to publicly declare them.
There are a couple of reasons for this: One, it creates the ‘possibility’ of existence. I know to many this sounds very ‘hair-fairy’. But i’m not talking about it in the same way-over-board, super-exaggerated way that you might be thinking. I’m simply referring to starting a new, different conversation in your head.
What most people don’t realize is that they are having a conversation in their head already… they are always ‘putting it out there’, but usually it goes along the lines…”I CAN’T do it.” “I’m NOT good enough”, “It’s NOT possible for me.”….AND YOU START TO BELIEVE IT!
So by ‘putting it out there’ the way I’m talking about, you can start to shift that conversation in your head.
The second reason declaration is so powerful is because in our society we are rewarded for consistency and punished for inconsistency. If you commit to something publicly, you will have a higher likelihood of following through.
There is social pressure to follow through with what we have committed to.
For example if you tell your significant other that you will take them to the movies and dinner and you DON’T show up… you will be punished.
On the other hand if you DO follow through (which is expected)… you will be rewarded 🙂
If you tell yourself something long enough, you will start to believe it…tell enough people publicly, you will start to achieve it.
So put it out there as often as you can.
Roberto and I just finished up our business plan for 2012 and I am so excited about the future of InfluenceOlogy.
So, today I want to declare our Mission:
Our mission is to transform 1 Million people into InfluenceOlogists, so they can live their best life possible.
In case you are a new reader, an influenceOlogist is someone that practices Influenceology.
And InfluenceOlogy is the art and science of increasing your influence in 3 key areas:
Inner-fluence: The way you communicate and influence yourself into action.
Intra-Fluence: The way you communicate and influence other people.
Enterprise Influence: Your ability to create and manage an enterprise that supports the life you want to live.
Influence comes in many forms and it is the one skill that can single-handedly transform your business, your health, your relationships, your happiness and it’s our mission to teach as many people just how to do it.
So I encourage you to declare your BHAG (Big, Harry, Audacious, Goal).
